This two-part series explores emergent curriculum in early learning in greater depth. Part 1 introduces its foundational principles and the roles of teachers, children, and the learning environment in supporting meaningful, interest-based learning. Part 2 focuses on observation and documentation as key tools to better understand children’s development and guide responsive, child-centered lesson planning.

This training can also support programs in meeting Washington State Record Review Tool requirements by strengthening documentation practices, improving instructional planning, and helping educators use evidence to demonstrate quality teaching and child learning outcomes.
